Are you an adventurous bride? Will your wedding take place off the beaten track?
Kathmandu’s new release the Adapt All-Weather Wedding Dress may be your perfect gown!
A collaboration with kiwi designer Tanya Carlson and recycled fabric GORE-TEX, the waterproof design is, as should be expected on the first day of April, an elaborate April Fool’s joke.
Made from seven metres of GORE-TEX fabric and lined with merino wool in a shade of ‘something blue’, the one-off creation will be on display in Christchurch at the Tower Junction Kathmandu store from Wednesday.
The gown is already up for auction on Trade Me with all proceeds going to the New Zealand Himalayan Trust, a charity founded by Sir Edmund Hillary that works to improve lives of people in the Solukhumbu district of Nepal.
If you’re after a pocketed gown complete with a train that transforms into a hooded cape that, in true Kathmandu style, packs down into a backpack, then maybe this one-of-a-kind is ‘the one’ for you.
