Amongst all that needs to be planned and decided on for your big day, it is sometimes easy to not priorities the most important aspect and the reason you are there in the first place, the ceremony!

The ceremony is the only part of this day that really matters. When you dream about your wedding day as a young girl, it’s not the style of catering or the seating-plan that you dream of. You dream and imagine the moment when you walk down the aisle, to the man you love.

You dream of the moment he sees you and how he will react and you imagine saying those promises to each other out loud in front of your closest friends and family. If this moment is perfect, the rest of your day will be, regardless of what may not quite go to plan.

We couldn’t have trusted a better person to shape our ceremony, Melanie Kerr was an absolute delight to work with. She is the best in the business at what she does, a true professional and has a way about her which makes even the most strung out and stressed bride relax.

As Melanie no longer lives in Auckland, we had our first consultation with her over Skype which was really convenient and means that no matter your location you can meet Mel and discuss the details of your ceremony well in advance of the wedding week.

With Mel’s wealth of experience, she was able to guide us through this entire process, giving us different options and ideas on how we may like to structure the ceremony. She also gave us some homework to do together and also apart to ensure she had a huge amount of information on our journey so she could personalise the ceremony and add in some special additions on the day.

The day before the wedding we met Melanie in person for the first time to do a ceremony rehearsal. The fact we had not actually met her yet didn’t matter one bit as she treats you as if you have known each other a life time. Having Mel there to run us and our bridal party through everything was really great and put us at ease making us feel so comfortable, relaxed and just excited for the big day!

When I walked down the aisle the next day, the first thing I saw was my amazing husband, the look on his face and the moment I had dreamed of all my life. I then looked over and saw Mel, with a huge smile on her face, grinning from ear to ear and my nerves melted away. In the most venerable moment of your life, you really need someone there like Mel, who you trust, to help keep you calm, tell you to take a breath and coach you through our vows. It really made us both so much more comfortable to know she was up there with us.

We absolutely loved working with Melanie. She was an exceptional addition to our ceremony. Her energy is so positive, vibrant, compassionate and warm and we are so thrilled she was apart of the most special moment of our day, the moment we said I do.
