The World Reacts to Pippa Middleton's Wedding Dress

Social media has lit up overnight, thanks to the high society nuptials of Pippa Middleton and her financier partner James Matthews. And rightly so, she looked pretty as a picture.

Party planner, socialite, and sister to British Royalty, Pippa Middleton wed her long-term partner overnight at St Mark's Church in Englefield Green, England – and the world is in awe!

"Fashion Moment", "In Love", "Wedding Goals"... say some of the captions. "Stunner", "Pipped Her Sister", and "Perfect" say others.

Might we suggest the reaction to her stunning wedding gown has gained much broader (and overall more positive) acclaim than that of her sister Catherine's, designed by Alexander McQueen, when she wed Prince William in 2011.

Pippa's capped-sleeve lace gown, with a fitted bodice showing off her slim waist and a full skirt, was designed and created by Giles Deacon.

Deacon was the hot pick after visiting the Middleton's Estate just a few weeks ago carrying a garment bag. We now know that inside that bag may well have been the romantic dress Pippa wore yesterday – worth a reported Β£40,000 (NZD$75,000).

The designer told Business of Fashion that the dress was made entirely of bespoke, hand-pieced lace. "I wanted that 'how-was-that-done?' factor," he said.Β β€œIt’s all hand-pieced which is why you don’t actually see a seam.”

Pippa's veil – hand-embroidered with pearls – was by famed British milliner Stephen Jones.

Pippa and James' wedding reception took place at the Middleton Family Estate, and reports say that a glass marquee was flown in especially for the occasion.
