Join our lucky winner Marysa and her fiancé Peter on their journey to their Dream Wedding.
This week, it’s been all about the bridesmaids and groomsmen. One of the unexpected pleasures of this process has been choosing the people who are closest to us and embarking on a new journey with them. Of course, one of the steps in this journey is making sure all our groomsmen and bridesmaids feel and look amazing on the day. They've all played such vital roles in our lives, so it’s the least we can do!
I’m so lucky to have my childhood friend Emma living nearby in Auckland. We met when we were three years old and have so many shared memories. This week we added another to the list: trying on a selection of beautiful Sally Eagle Bridal Designs bridesmaid’s dresses. It really helped to see the dresses in person and we ended up selecting a style that will complement all three of my bridesmaids – and went with a colour that initially wasn't even on my radar.
Pete also visited Frank Casey with one of his groomsmen, Eamonn. Pete and Eamonn have been as thick as thieves since high school. They even extended their friendship into their OE years and found themselves flatting together in London, where I’m sure they had all sorts of fun... No doubt we'll hear more about that during the speeches on our special night! Frank Casey has a great selection and we’ll have no trouble finding something that'll work with the bridesmaid dresses. My gorgeous husband to be will look dashing in any of the suits.
Sally Eagle's dresses and colours have inspired our thoughts on theming and we're dreaming of soft, romantic shades with a hint of a nautical theme. Next week, the lovely Ashley from Southern Belle Styling & Events is going to help us work out how to bring our ideas to life. Actually, next week is going to be doubly exciting, with my mother flying up from Christchurch to join me at Hera Couture. I’m really looking forward to this special mother and daughter bonding time.
Without a doubt, it's a super busy time, but Pete and I are determined to enjoy every step of the way, all the way up the aisle to that moment when we look into each others eyes – which is, of course, what it’s all about.
Until next week, Marysa xx
