Simple yet stunning, a trail of delicate blooms makes a dreamy addition to a gently tousled braid.
This pixie-like look is ideal for outdoor weddings. Pump up the volume by gently scrunching Joico Body Luxe Root Lift Volumising Foam, $30, in at the roots – this will create a soft bed for dainty flowers. Create a daisy chain-like string of blooms and secure one end in your hair with bobby pins – be sure to tousle your hair atop of the pins so they are invisible. Loosely plait the trail into your braid as if it’s part of your hair. The more blossoms you use the merrier, but be mindful of their colour. ‘Use flowers that are in keeping with your dress as well as your skin and eyes, as they’re such a big feature of the outfit,’ hair stylist Richard Kavanagh says. Warm skin colours work well with soft yellows and pinks, while cooler tones suit violet and lilac hues.
Florist's tip: ‘Tiny, frothy buds like Lily of the Valley create a natural, whimsical look clustered throughout the hair,’ Kelly Amundsen advises. ‘Jasmine is also fantastic for a soft, fragrant option.’
