Stay up to date with all that’s new and noted in the world of weddings – we give you the low-down on this week’s bridal buzz.
Wairarapa Wedding Expo
Planning a wedding in the Wairarapa? If you’ve got plans for Sunday, we suggest you cancel them immediately – the Wairarapa Wedding Expo is on, and with over 40 of the region’s best vendors on exhibit, attendance is an absolute must. It’s held at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort, it’s free, and the first 200 brides through the door get a goodie bag – if that’s not an incentive we don’t know what is.
Food glorious food
From homemade pots of jam to selections of sweet treats wrapped in pretty paper, there’s little we (and guests!) love more than a fab foodie favour. With personalisation being the new bridal buzzword, we were excited to see kikki.K’s Let’s Eat Wooden Stamp Set hit shelves on Monday – talk about the perfect fuss-free way to individualise favour packaging!
Latest wedding trends

And for those who have fallen in love with the products featured, see our comprehensive guide with all the details to help you nail the trends yourself.
Friday throwback – celebrity wedding of the week
Considering it was her fifth trip to the altar, it’s not surprising Elizabeth Taylor steered away from white when she said ‘I do’ to Richard Burton (for the first of an eventual two times, that is). She paired her daffodil-yellow, long-sleeved chiffon gown with a wild floral head piece, while an emerald and diamond brooch (a gift from Richard) finished her look. The wedding took place in front of nine people in March 1964 – just nine days after Elizabeth’s divorce from Eddie Fisher.
Bridal party giveaway
The perfect size for your handbag or wedding-day clutch, we have five MOR Little Luxuries Marshmallow Perfume Oil and Soapette Duets to give away this week! This prize is exclusive to bridal party members, so join here for your chance to claim your own little tin of indulgence.
Idea of the week – pot plant favours
These pot plant favours are the ultimate gift that keeps giving, and add vibrant dimension to place settings:
1 biodegradable pot
1 seedling of a plant with tiny flowers, such as busy lizzies
Plant the seedling in the pot. Add more soil if necessary, and embeliish with twine or ribbon in a matching colour.
