Glamping. (noun). A form of camping involving accommodation and facilities more luxurious than those associated with traditional camping.
From proposals to hen's parties, finding a special location where you can relax but enjoy spectacular features is always high on the list. We spoke to Sarah Gilbertson, the host at Ridge Top Farm – a rural place for people to relax (in comfort) about why young couples and friends are flocking to her farm.
How has your property evolved since the beginning?
Sarah: We have evolved from solely doing glamping to doing, corporate day events including Hen's do's with activities and a lunch.
We have also set-up a 'Farm Walk' package where guests glamp and do two-day walks on our farm including all food.
Do you think the glamping concept is gaining in popularity?

Tell us about some special occasions that have happened at Ridge Top Farm?
While the most popular is anniversaries, we have also had a range of hen's parties. Groups of up to 10 have come for a weekend enjoying the peace and quiet, making their own fun in the open spaces provided. We have also done large groups (up to 25) as a luncheon and activities such as golf and claybird shooting.
What inspired you to start Ridge Top Farm?

What are the food and catering options?
Ridge Top Farm offers catering from fully catered (breakfast, lunch, dinner & dessert) to individual meals (dinner and dessert only). Beverage is generally BYO, but I am always happy to take care of this side of things if requested.
What is some of the most popular feedback you get from guests about the property?
Soaking in the twin outdoors baths watching the incredible stary night. Sitting around the campfire drinking red wine and toasting mashmallows. The comfortable beds and linen...
