Choose your hire company carefully
Bringing a marquee, tables, or even just extra glasses into the mix? Look for experience, reliablity and the quality of the equipment. You should be able to ascertain this information through your correspondence with the company: do they respond to emails quickly? Have they been involved in lots of weddings?
Have a proper consultation
All reputable companies will go out of their way to be sure you are hiring the best option for your event. If you’re hiring a marquee, be sure to arrange a site visit with a person from the hire company to ensure you are choosing the right option, and to double check there are no hidden stumbling blocks (think an unstable patch of land, or an in-the-way tree) that could cause trouble.
Plan for wet weather
Nothing will throw you in a spin more than having to organise a last-minute spot for the ceremony. Be sure to have a Plan B to save yourself the panic.
Ask for help
Many hands make light work! As well as being sure that your hire company is set to deliver and install your equipment and marquee (one less thing for you to do) try and recuit as many friends as possible to help as well. When it comes to weddings, you’ll be amazed at how fast the last leadup days slip away – the more help you can wrangle the better.
